Community FAQs
  • Why should my parents move to a senior living community now?
  • The best time to move is while they’re active, healthy and able to enjoy everything we have to offer. If they require assisted living, by providing those services, we can enable them to participate in community life. People who wait until they're facing more serious health problems have fewer options. They're forced to make a decision in a time of stress. If you want your parents to enjoy a truly carefree retirement, don't postpone it.

  • What exactly is Assisted Living?
  • Assisted Living is a care option that provides residents with housing, support services and health care, as needed. Services may include assistance with activities of daily life, supervision of medication, and help with coordination of outside care providers.

  • How can I tell what Assisted Living services my mother or father needs?
  • When you and your parent first visit us, we can arrange for a needs-assessment to determine exactly which services we would recommend. Fees are based solely on the particular services needed. At Sterling Estates, we do much more than provide these services; we work with our residents to help them enjoy rich and rewarding lifestyles that are in accord with their personal health needs.

  • Are there additional costs for the Wellness programs?
  • Wellness at Sterling Estates is an integral part of our daily lives and we believe our Sterling Way wellness programs are very effective in helping one improve his or her physical or mental well-being. There are no additional costs associated with participating in our Sterling Way wellness programs, using our exercise facilities, or swimming in the pool by yourself or with friends and family. • What happens if my parent’s health needs change?
  • If your parent is living in a Cottage, Garden Villa, or Independent Living Apartment, he or she is guaranteed priority for an Assisted Living Suite. If both of your parents are living at Sterling Estates, both can move into the Suite and will only have to pay for the specific Assisted Living services required.
