Our reasonable monthly fee covers the majority of your parent’s expenses. If your parent were living at home, there would be many expenses in addition to rent or mortgage and taxes. The monthly fee at Sterling Estates includes gas, electric, water, valet trash removal, bi-weekly housekeeping, cable, and full access to the Wellness Center and pool. For Assisted Living residents, it also includes three daily meals. If you’d like to look at your parent’s current expenses in detail, please use our Cost of Living Calculator.
Costs at Sterling Estates also compare very favorably to continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). Those types of communities often tie up significant assets for years and many have non-refundable entry fees.
Independent Living at any of our Cottages or Garden Villas only requires a one-year rental contract with an entrance fee. We do require 90 days’ notice should you decide to leave, but only 30 days if it’s a medical emergency. At the end of your contract period, 80% of your entrance fee is refunded when the unit is re-rented. This makes living at a Sterling Estates community a great way to preserve assets for yourself and your estate.
Assisted Living at our communities requires no entrance fee and your parent will only have to pay for those assisted living services specifically needed.
If your parent is a veteran, he or she may be eligible for VA Aid & Attendance Benefit. Also, some of our residents have been able to deduct their assisted living expenses. For more information on these topics, please consult our FAQs here.
Unquestionably, the greatest financial advantage of living at a Sterling Estates Senior Living Community is the possibility of avoiding later senior care health expenses through the proactive Wellness programs we offer.
